The See-Food Experience at the 3rd Moveable Feast

Woo-hoo! We made it! After getting a bit lost, we finally arrived at our destination….

For those of you not familiar with Moveable Feast, check out their webpage here as well as their FB page.

Awaiting the guests arrival was the signature MF welcome spread of appetizers and refreshments….

And already waiting for me were my Three Musketeers, Tanya, Maria and Anne-Marie…. What’s up? 😉photo 5(17)

After the introductions of what Moveable Feast is about, we were whisked off  by Mr. Chito Galvez for a tour of Massimo’s Farm….

We even got to pick and eat mulberries from their garden, how cool is that?….

So what’s new with the 3rd Moveable Feast? This time they have included a wine tasting portion in addition to wine pairings to the whole farm-to-table five-course menu…. Holla!!!!

Let me tell you that this has got to be the silliest Moveable Feast group to date! Or did all that wine tasting bring out the silliness in everyone? I believe this lady is to blame….

Chie Gatchalian of 5 1/2 TwistsChie Gatchalian, a sommelier representing 5 & 1/2 Twists was a huge part of the 3rd Moveable Feast dining experience. Chie focused on organic, biodynamic and sustainable wines and featured 3 kinds. She reminded us that this was a wine tasting and anytime that we feel we had enough of a wine or if we didn’t like a certain variety, we should then pour it out in the provided bucket. I didn’t want good wine to go to waste so it was only a matter of time until my pictures started to get blurry….

It's all a blur

After learning about the different wines we “sampled” (wink wink!), it was off to wine more and dine….

Our long table awaits...

Aha! The latest secret menu unveiled….

Among the diners were Bebo and Nikki Bhirwani of The Green Grocer, “Manila’s first  home delivery service of fresh organic produce, artisan bread, premium meats, deli items, and other grocery necessities by helping redefine how we consume food.”  chatting it up with a wonderful friend of mine, Tanya Guerrero of Pioneer Studios.

Meeting our guest chef for today, Chef Hazel Lu-Galvez of Massimo’s Farm….

photo 3(9)According to the MB facebook page, “After 8 years of running a little Italian restaurant in Tagaytay, she travelled to Paris and France to pursue academic studies in Gastronomy and the Arts of the Table at Le Cordon Bleu and the Universite de Reims Champagne-Ardenne. Inspired by the European education she had just received, she came home to create Massimo’s Farm.

First up were the anitpasti….

And a pizza Margherita with arugula. I couldn’t take a photo fast enough as my table completely devoured every slice! We washed everything down with a Lessini Durello Sparkling 2011. My photo journalistic “skills” seems to not work when hungry.

But I did get to catch the next dish of fresh pasta with ham and peas. Although this dish, just like the pizza, almost got away….

Ok, now slowly filling up, I promise you I did manage to capture the next main course. And tada! I got to the dish before it even landed on the table! Impressive, huh?

Meet one of our gorgeous servers, Pam Pascual, sister of the amazing Jenny Pascual, organizer and proprietor of Moveable Feast.

Here you can take a good look at this wonderful chicken and rice dish before it all disappears into our bellies!

This delicious dish was paired with a Solo 10 Rose Veneto 2011, my favorite wine of the day. Chie was the rock star of the event. Every time she brought out wine, loud cheering would erupt.

Unbeknownst to me and with all that wine, I discovered I can perform magic…

Next dish was another tasty dish composed of Romaine lettuce, french fries, homemade chorizo and aioli and organic eggs on top…

You can add more fun to their already yummy ice-cream with toppings…. Freshly baked chocolate chip cookies which were still warm from oven, chocolate and caramel and freshly-picked mulberries from their garden.

An  MF event is never complete without their farm stand, where you can go shopping for the organic goodies….

Even way after the event was over, we still didn’t want it to end. Guests still lingered over freshly brewed coffee, catching up or getting to know each other better….

All photos taken with the iPhone 5 with no filter. Not bad! 😉
